Because.

Because your description of your approach is flawed. You cannot mouse hover and then read the coordinates from that object.

The API works the other way around. And your approach does not address following example:

A Trendline has two points on the chart. How do you identify that object when your coordinates are not on one of the points, but somewhere on the line itself?

And that's just a simple object. Do that with an ellipse or a fibo element.

Won't work.
