the book is cooler than the movie - more than half of it didn't make it into the movie ....
 
That's weird. I've read Gogol, Dostoevsky. Wrong language! Pushkin's a direct hit. I've been looking for works in philology, no. I'll keep digging.

Dostoevsky's language may be a bit heavy, but when I discovered him (much later than at school, as I hated school literature), I was amazed at how often I saw myself in his reasoning. A genius, after all!

Dostoevsky is certainly a genius. But his works are depressing.
