it looks like this is the last election with the er.

then we have to come up with something new

Information from Baikonur on the Phobos-Grunt spacecraft.

UPD. NK Forum, etc:
Last telemetry transmitted - before the failure. No telemetry could be received after the failure.
It is also not clear if the vehicle is in solar orientation mode. Waiting for results of optical observation.
If it is in orientation, that's it - the batteries will not have enough charge for a long time.
It's most likely the vehicle is in emergency mode, it's turning on the X-band transmitter and listening.
Need to get it to reset telemetry, will try in the afternoon (ESA station in Australia).

UPD. 2. Optical means confirmed the presence of solar orientation of the spacecraft.

UPD. 3. Briefly. TM from Zenith's second stage was received - separation was normal. On the first and only time TM was received confirming the deployment of the SB, the construction of the SOA, and the normal functioning of all systems.
After the second spin the spacecraft was found in a supporting orbit and silent. No TM was received during the last day. That night unsuccessful attempts were made from Baikonur to reset the BCU. Attempts will be repeated this night.

UPD. 4. It is now (at 15:40) rising over Kuru.
From there they will be broadcasting a request to turn on the transmitter! All prayers to Omnissia.

UPD. 5. From the NK forum - "A man from Galliot has just texted that Kuru has not received telemetry from FG."

UPD. 6. There is information that the AMC was transmitted (most likely from the NIP at Baikonur) a command to activate the external-vector measurement system (autonomous beeper). The command is directly executed, bypassing all systems. If it beeps - alive. If it doesn't, it's probably dead!

UPD. 7. No beeper signal. Will try again, but...

Apparently the welder was bad again.... It is a logical consequence of the processes taking place in the country. It's a shame.

Do not touch the welders! They are good people and do their job honestly! Pipelines do not leak!

And an American professor, who is aware of interplanetary projects, writes that he does not understand Russian idiots who during 15 years of preparation of such a complex vehicle have not tested any of hundreds of new units and sensors in test flights on small satellites. And I am not surprised that with this approach, no Russian vehicle has ever made it to Mars in the last 20 years.

He amicably calls his Russian colleagues idiots after a very important sensor failed two out of three attempts during bench tests and yet was deemed suitable for installation on the spacecraft.

In St. Petersburg, there is an office in the former crate. They make money there. They have an order for batteries for satellites. You can't even count the number of people who feed themselves. That's not counting those who lobby in Moscow and get paid, like for doing business.

We bought the shells in Dnepropetrovsk. They decided to save money and found some similar in size but not AIR but EARTH and BUT. The contents did not fit. So we put it in and even handed it over.

By the way, the assembly foreman was a plumber with his wellestablished ideas about tolerances and technologies. I doubt that the other parts are done honestly.

There's no talking about honesty, we have to wait another 50 years. But it doesn't even fucking work! That's for five yards of wood! The price of two Mars rovers still running around the red planet.

I don't think so, the welder. It's more likely that a thieving manager has secretly replaced some unit with a cheaper and lower quality one. I think it's not so much that the system "went left" at startup. We all got used to such glitchy launches a long time ago.

The question is, how necessary are such developments for the country? The country has no other global tasks (besides flights to Mars and Jupiter)? Just off the top of my head - Roads, which for some reason, disappear (or are immediately destroyed) after the prime minister took a ride on them in a yellow Kalina. By the way, there is still no normal road from the European part of Russia to the Far East. Planes crashing almost weekly.... There is no shortage of things to say.

The authorities, it seems, are fed up with building presidential residences from the Baltic Sea to Kamchatka? And they decided now to invest trillions more on expensive new toys?

!

Welders for demanding work in our country have long been sent from abroad, because we do not have enough of our own. So, I have nothing against welders. The latest failed launch of progress failed, as concluded by the commission because of poor welding. In general, the working professions are a mess, I can responsibly say that as a practitioner in real business.)
