It's a fascinating story, Basic Question of Life, the Universe... and all that...
It's not a new idea.
The idea that we are all divine creatures, but we are each at our own stage of development and represent a single whole is well described in Sergey Lazarev's Diagnosis of Karma. The point is that when we feel aggression towards another person, we feel aggression towards God, because it is not for us to judge what is good and what is bad. Considering ourselves to be good we can be mistaken, because the aggression of an alcoholic towards a drinking buddy is completely incomparable with aggression towards an entire nation, which is typical to some well-to-do spiritually advanced personalities. Such people are sometimes much more dangerous for the society, than a crowd of homeless people, rapists and criminals.
