There is no subject to be admired. All matstatistics have long ago been applied to economics and it's all called econometrics. More than once I have written on this forum and website, but one attitude is that the word "econometrics" according to the website has a grammatical error.
A large number of packages have been developed to automate econometrics procedures, e.g. EViwes. I can recommend a 10-year-old book by the author Nosko: Econometrics for Beginners, Econometrics - an Introduction to Regression Analysis, Econometrics for Beginners (Additional Chapters), Econometric Analysis of Macroeconomic Indicators. And right on topic: V. G. Briukov, How to Predict the Dollar Rate.

I have a link to a book of 270 pages. The article is not related to the book, which provides calculations on EViews. Brückow's book came out in April, but Nosko's books are a theoretical complement to EViews and are much more serious.
