There, above, you wrote that "a stopcock in an EA is unrealistic".

And why ?

Personally, I use a very simple stop tap: a combination of "max drawdown + max SL queue" conditions. As soon as it triggers - TS needs to be reworked or replaced altogether.

Next - about the testing period. The interval of 10 years is a proper one for days. I am even leaning towards 15 years. But this is an unreasonably long interval for sentinels. Researching different trading techniques, I see that many of them have dramatically changed their results somewhere since 2011. That is, a technique that has been working for the last three years before that time - starts failing, and vice versa. Rebuilding such techniques for a period of 10 or even more so 15 years will lead to a sharp decrease in its effectiveness. Exactly because it will increase the period of time in which it will work. In my opinion, it is wise to use any technique only where it works, and replace it as soon as the "stopcock" is triggered.
