Planning For Google Discontinuation Of Less Secure Apps Access

Hi System Traders,

For those who use Gmail SMTP to send email alerts for their EAs' notifications, what are your plans after 30th May 2022 when Google plans to stop 'Less Secure Apps Access' of Gmail. MT4 email sending depends on this currently.
Does anyone have a solution for this?

  1. Use an alternative public SMTP service.
  2. Create your own SMTP service, be it on an ISP, VPS or on your private network.
  3. Use a SMTP relay or gateway, be it public or on your PC or network.
  4. Use MetaTrader Mobile app Push Notifications
 

Hi guys,

This is quite a late reply but I couldn't find the answer for using gmail with MT4/5 emails on this forum. I have managed to use gmail with MT4/5 email notifications by creating an app password on gmail and using it in MT4/5, you need to make sure your 2FA is activated on your gmail account though.
