EA on MT4

I am running a new EA on MT4 live for the first time after backtesting a basic strategy.
I have a smiley face on the top right of the chart, but no trades are getting triggered.
How do i check if it is "live" or working?

Check in the journal that its initialized properly.
Have you attached it on the correct chart and on the right timeframe?
Trading criteria should be meet before it trades anyway.
