New Bar Opening Price
When I read the new bar opening price for a daily bar, the first tick (may be first few ticks) will still send the previous days open price. Would
anyone be able to guide on why?

If you are accessing D1 data from a different chart TF you must make sure that the D1 data is updated.
On MT4: Unless the current chart is that specific symbol(s)/TF(s) referenced, you must handle 4066/4073
errors before accessing candle/indicator values.
