Closing a trade

Hi All,
Can someone please explain when I close a successful trade it takes so long to actually close. I try closing 4 or 5 times to take my
profit and by the time if finally closes its not for the same figure that I originally closed for. Can anyone explain why. Im a newbie at
this and would like to know how I can close a trade in an instant. If I wanted to close out on a losing trade that seems to work straight away.
This is usually happens in times of high volatility (during high impact news), when your terminal doesn't communicate as quickly as you wanted to with your broker.
