Is success in Strategy Tester Optimization reliable?

Hi all,

If your EA get success in certain amount of time like Last Year, Last Month, Last week does that mean it can /will show the same success (at least not loose) in live data?

(using the same settings which shows the highest profit in the optimization) 

Do you have any experience in this area like;

"Yeah I got pretty much similar results" or

" 'Damn you Optimization!' You just gave me false hopes"
