Color Schemes

I use a different color scheme than the ones available in the drop down menu (see scheme in pic).


I never managed to find where the color scheme templates are in MT4, and I can't find them in MT5 either.


Surely a simple solution is to simply set your colors the way you want and just type in a new scheme name and press save.

Anyone know how to assist, please feel free to let me know.

Set your colors on the new chart and save as template (right click - Templates - Save template) default.tpl

Default.tpl template will be applied to all new opened charts

 

Hi, 

I recently started using another version of MT5 by a different broker, and wish to download/use my old historic chart settings/colours on this new MT5 version. 

I saved down my old templates as "TPL" files, and tried to open them through the "file", "open data folder" of the new MT5 version, but no application seems to work to download them.

Please assist, thanks

Open the old terminal's «DataFolder» (File (Alt+F) → Open Data Folder (D)). Move to ../template.

Same with the new terminal.

copy the template from the old folder to the new one. apply to existing charts.

I've done all of the above, but do you know how I actually "apply" to my existing charts? 

When you are in the "properties", "colours" section of the charts (right side of attached screenshot, left side is the actual TPL files folder), it doesn't actually let you save down your selections into a file, but think they just get saved down in the background. As far as I can see, you therefore can't call up/highlight the file folder with the "TPL" files in it from your MT5 whilst in this "colours" tab. Does that make sense?
