Cannot install indicators from older meta trader version

Im having trouble installing indicator template package on meta trader, it comes as an application and automatically installs all files in the

right place but it is an old package from 2015 and cannot install on the

new meta trader as it is deisgned for meta trader 4. I have tried to place all the files in the correct folder manually but to no success.

Any tips? or is it possible to install an older version of meta trader? If so where can you download it?

If that isn't possible try to extract the package using 7-Zip and put the indicator in the correct metatrader indicators folder.

You can find it by clicking File>Open Datafolder.

  1. There are newer MT4s and newer MT5s but there is no "new meta trader." Have you installed MT4 or MT5? The latter will never work with your MT4 package.

    Assuming you installed MT4, it sounds like your package installer predates the new Data Structure in MetaTrader 4 Build 600 and Higher - MQL4 Articles 17.02.2014. Try what Marco suggested, extract and install in the correct folders. Indicators that old may not display correctly on build 1090+ and can't be fixed without the source code.

  2. Support for MetaTrader 4 client terminal versions below 1065 will be discontinued on the 1st of October 2017. Unsupported terminal builds will not be able to connect to new server versions. We strongly recommend that you update your terminals in advance.
