Why is economic calendar also important for stock market investors?

Everybody knows that economic calendar plays a crucial role in the Forex market than the rest of financial markets.
But, in my opinion,
The Economic calendar is not just for currency traders but also stock market investors who have participated in the stock of public listed companies. I know currency and economy has a direct relation but the economic growth also plays a major role in the performance of company’s stock.
“Think about it! An economic calendar has the data related to many major economic events & announcements like GDP, wholesale price index (WPI), CPI, and many other economic indicators which used to measure inflation. That means, economy influenced by these major events and announcements, so if that’s the case then any major or minor movement in the economy will definitely influence the stock market as well.”
