DDE fail to open mq5 in metaeditor

i've downloaded a mq5 file on Desktop, then chosen to open it with "metaeditor", and get this error:

DDE data exchange failed

this load metaeditor but not the file

Wonder why dde is not working

Are you sure that you are trying to open file using MetaEditor for MetaTrader5?

Maybe you are right as MT4 & MT5 are both installed on that pc, and metaeditor is a generic name, might be metaeditor4 and metaeditor5 to avoid confusion. Is there a way to workaround it ?
