 Russian fintech company MetaQuotes no longer intends to issue upgrades to the MetaTrader 4 (MT4) as it is focusing entirely on its successor MetaTrader 5 (MT5), investment news provider Finance Magnates reported on Tuesday, citing Anthony Papaevagorou, head of sales at MetaQuotes, as saying at the Finance Magnates London Summit. 


“We do not expect to see any developments to come out of MT4 ever again. Given this, MT4 is slowly dying out,” Papaevagorou said as quoted by the media. “MT5 was previously struggling to keep up with MT4 and our other offerings, our problem is that we are victims of our own success,” he added.

is this true? no more mt4? i guess indicators eas and script will not be compatible for mt5, right?

  Previously it was told widely that end of this year brokers and users might be forced to transmit on MT5 and it was expected too and Meta quotes is trying to do as up to his best but i guess and believes it is not possible in so soon future to struck off MT4 totally,there are so many reasons for.

i would switch to mt5 with extreme pleasure if i can again use my indicators and ea......

Very less tools (indicators,script,EAs) for MT5 compare to MT4,it needs at least one year to match and 2 years to match users as per my guess :)

i just hope that they will make them compatible with mt5, maybe including both editors in new mt5 upgrades and make them co-existing in some way...jesus jesus jesus...

My personal experience is that mt5 is inferior to mt4 not only because of the limited number of indicators and scripts. Please see my comment here: https://www.mql5.com/en/forum/179991/page21. Too simply, it does not work for me... Is this what you want to have...? It cannot even print channels correctly, look at the candles... look at the missing indicators... mt5 is a disaster...

ATTENTION: Video should be reuploaded

i'm really really worried about this forced migration. My whole work is based on offline custom charts and mt5 doesn't support that. it would be really a disaster for me...
