I am totally agree with you in this case. First change to lose and then gain.
Lets assume the following : that the average trade is closed after 100 pips
With an average 2 pips spread (or the value of those 23 pips in commission) it takes 2% only on a spread, Leaving us 52 to 48 odd of losing.
That is in a case of 100 pips closing. But knowing that it happens far before that, the odds of winning in the start are far bellow 50% (taking into account only the spread, nothing ales). Already on 50 pips orders, the odds are 54 to 46 to lose
