IG clients take their cases to the UK financial ombudsman after SNB day
In the ongoing battle over negative balances 15 IG customers have raised an issue with the UK ombudsman
Finance Magnates has details of the move by around 15 IG clients unhappy with their treatment over the SNB EURCHF cap pull. The main reason for complaint is that they believe IG acted for their own interests ahead of customers. In June it was reported that a letter from IG's compliance department stated that IG traded its own account for 7 minutes after the cap was removed while customers were left waiting
IG obviously deny the claims but will have to field any investigation from the ombudsman
In the meantime IG claim that less than 80 customers with negative balances have yet to pay. This is from a total of 341. Those 80 are said to owe £15m
The financial ombudsman is the first step to take when an issue cannot be resolved between a financial firm and a customer. Once they have been contacted the firm in question has 8 weeks to provide a final response which the ombudsman tries to mediate with the client

Same old story - in 7 minutes they could have transfer all the loses to customers
