I have never been a big fan of window dressing and since I am not a professional trader catering to performance hungry investors I do not close a position just because it is the end of the month, quarter or year.

We are in our last trading week of the first-quarter as well as first-half of 2013 and I hope that my 2%ers had a good performance so far. A lot of institutional traders will close their positions in order to lock in profits or reduce floating trading losses in order to streamline their portfolios for the second-half so be aware of an increase in volatility especially in the major currency crosses.
I am not a big fan of window dressing and would never exit a trade because the quarter or half-year ends just to show my investors a mid-year gain. Smart traders and investors understand that and therefore try to stay away from this practice.
What about you guys, window dressing or not?
