Egg timer / PCChrono: Bar timing software?
Here's some software that will countdown x minutes then reset and repeat. It's capable of showing multiple timers so that you can see the time left of a M5 bar, M15 bar, M30 bar etc.
Egg Timer 8 USD - http://www.sinnercomputing.com/EggP.htm
PCChrono has timer software which is freeware but it doesn't have a reapeat function. I've emailed the author to see if he will include these functions:-
- Reapeat mode
- Multiple timer display

Egg Timer tested: Poor
I set the Egg Timer software to countdown 5mins and reapeat over 4 hours. In that time it manged to loose 26 seconds which is a shame really as it's very useful but not for timing bars.
Egg Timer: Update
I emailed the author of Egg Timer and explained the situation about the time error. Here's his response:
Yes, I have noticed the same problem. Please note though that Egg is not
designed for that purpose, so it isn't really a bug, but if that is how you
want to use Egg then I understand it would seem to be one. Eggs repeat modes
are there as a convenience to save people constantly clicking "Start", not
for the purpose of a repeating five minute event. If you want a timer to do
an event on a specific time, or interval something like our GigAlarm could
be more suitable. Egg is more for stop/start and varied time applications.
All excuses aside, I am working on a new version of Egg right now and I have
attached the new (unfinished) beta. This version fixes the problem that you
have noted so it should work as you want. In addition, my program Secs,
which is very similar to Egg, does not suffer from this problem. (I had it
running for six hours on a five minute repeat and it did not loose or gain
any time.)
(Sorry for the delay in replying. I needed several hours for testing.)
So, the guy is working on the problem and it appears that he's now corrected it! I'm impressed by his candour and ability to work fast.
PC Chrono: Update
I emailed the author about his software and he replied within hours. He says that he's working on a repeat function for the timer and will implement it soon. He goes on to says that "PC Chrono supports running multiple instances ..." so it would seem that there is a possibility to time different bars with separate countdown timers but this would be messy as the timer window is quite large and can not be resized and that it would require that all instances to be sync'ed at the same time, impossible to do with just a mouse. He goes on to say that "Unfortunately a transparency mode cannot be used in PC Chrono window as it uses DirectDraw surface to paint itself directly to video accelerator onboard memory." which is a shame really. So there we have it ... the software is good but far from ideal.

Hello,
on my end I'm looking for a timer that would simply counts 5 minutes after a trade is initiated. The reason is, my broker does not validate any trade that is under 5 minutes, so for scalping I have to be sure my trades last at least 5 mn. Someone knows where I could find this?
