Importing Data to MT4

I have recently downloaded some Tickstory and FXDD files containing historical currency prices. I left them all in my "downloads" folder and extracted one of the FXDD files into .hst format. I opened MT4, highlighted the correct pair and time frame, clicked import, then browse. Whilst searching through my files with the browse option, none of the downloaded files appeared. I've even opened the download folder right next to the browse box-the download folder clearly shows the files, however the download folder in the browse box shows a download folder empty of files. I even tried moving the .hst file to a newly created folder-for some reason the browse search still cant see it. I've never seen anything like this before. Anyone know what's going on?
