Hello there wherever you are,

I might be tired this evening..... there is this operation that I see in the terminal history but do not understand.

This is within a scalping system that I am using actively.

The loss isn't much obviously but the loss in understanding is always too much for any trading system.

1- I opened a GBPCHF Sell trade on 9 Sept at 17:17:34 at current Bid price = 1.49808. My baby was crying in the bedroom so I set a SL (1.49954) and TP (1.49770) and left MT alone (yes, my baby is a parameter of my trading systems!).

2- At 17:21:55 the broker (Oanda) closed the trade as per SL setting.

However, the chart shows that the SL was never hit! The candles show that.

Where am I wrong guys?

Thank you in advance.

You buy at the Ask, so for a sell, the TP/SL is a buy and closes at the Ask. Turn on the Ask line, and see how big the spread is.

Thank you for your quick response.

The Ask line is the red line on the chart. I always turn it on and check it before I take a trade with a spread-based broker.

So if I understand well in this situation, the trade must have been closed because at some point the Ask price suddenly overpassed the SL price, am I right?

What do you think?

No "suddenly" about it.
