I want to put the following trade:
Short: US Oil (WTI)
Long: UK Oil (Brent)
If one position loses, I think the other will gain. As such, if I have individual stop losses, I could be in a position where the net loss to my portfolio is zero but there's a substantial loss on one leg of my trade. If I use stop losses on each individual leg, I could get stuck locking in a large loss when my account is at break even and then if the other leg normalizes... i would have substantial losses.
