Live Update

I recently had cause to install a new instance of MetaTrader because I couldn't figure out how to upgrade.

I've read various clips and it appears the upgrade feature should be 'automatic' .. but this doesn't seem to happen for me.

I have just completed a reboot and metatrader starts up - see attached file.

The Live update states a new version 4 is available (build 402) but no further windows appear.

I checked the version I had (after seeing the build 402 was available) and establish that I only have version 4 build 229.

Any suggestions as to how I can upgrade or should I just continue to re-install ?

edit - the attached file doesn't appear to attach. It just shows the dialague in the 'Journal' tab and states v4 build 402 is available. The screen also shows the Help / About window and V 4 Build 229 (Nov 2010)

Hi,

Programs appear to conform with above !

The program sort of installs itself and there are 2 areas on my C drive. I have windows 7 and the areas are

> Program Files

&

> Program Files (x86)

My copies of MetaTrader are located in the (x86) area

Vista=32 bit OS, so \program files. Win7=64 bit OS so \program files(x86)

Don't install in \program files*. any where else. IBFX defaults to C:\IBFX Trader 4\. Reinstall elsewhere.
