Copying over charts+setting between two MT5 installations.

Hello ...

I am using MT5 at two locations. Which particular files can I copy over to carry over charts+settings from one location to another?

I have tried to copy over the entire MT5 directory, but then MT5 started with the "factory default"?

I did not try but I think - you can copy MQL5 folder, open MT5, close MT5, and copy profiles (profiles are the charts with the settings) - for example from here C:\Program Files\MetaTrader 5\Profiles\Charts\Default , after that - open MT5 once again.

Unfortunately, even copying over the entire profile directory didn't copy over the charts and settings.

I assume all the MT5 settings and charts are stored somewhere outside of the whole MT5 program directory tree. 

 

On my Win7 computer, the MT5 charts+settings are located in C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Roaming\MetaQuotes\Terminal

Where YOURNAME is your PC's user/account name.
