You would be surprised, but a random chart has 'trends, retracements, support and resistance' as well. Actually, I'm pretty sure the majority of traders (and even the most experienced ones) won't tell the difference... See here for a simplified example (better ones can be easily done, ones that look like an MT4 chart...) -> http://www.ki.inf.tu-dresden.de/~fritzke/research/TS/example1.html.
Wow, that is fascinating. I found this generator which also replicates OHLC

I would seriously look at ways of trading some of the charts his random model produces!!!
Hmm... think I'll get my coat :)

Don't get too excited. There's mathematical proof that u can't win if the prices are indeed random. Hence u must assume they are not, otherwise u would not be here.

More dissapointment than excitement upon seeing a series of random numbers exhibiting the same structures I was basing predictions on last week. Assuming we can't assume anything, it does beg the question "why am I here?" . Maybe I will end up in the same place as OP after enough frustration, but I'm not there yet so for the moment, I will continue the assumption markets are not random. 6 months ago I had never heard of MQL and all programming languages were double dutch to me. Even if the destination turns out to be a bit crappy, I'm richer for the journey.
