Inserting a new expert in MQ4

Please excuse my ignorance....I've got some custom indicators and experts from a friend,in the form of mq4 or ex4 format.How can I insert these studies to MetaTrader?

Copy them into the "experts" folder which resides within the Meta Trader platform folder.

If you have any which are only source (mq4) files with no corresponding object (ex4) file, then you'll need to compile those using the MetaEditor.
