It has already started, at least with a domain name - www.mql5.com.
But the information here is not just MQL4, there is a lot of non-code specific information like strategies, approaches, algorithms etc which will just be a applicable to MQL5 or any future versions, albeit needing a rewrite to use MQL5 code snippets. But that wouldn't happen overnight, if at all.
But really, I'm in no hurry. If you can't make pips now with MQL4, MQL5 is not going to make one tiny little bit of difference.
Do we have a choice as to which version to use or will be be forced later on to switch to meta 5
This is a question for your broker, not MetaQuotes. My broker has indicated that they will introduce MT5 next year. I guess they will wait to see how it works and how many people change over before they decide if & when to discontinue MT4.
