I am quite a newbie in the world of programming.
I have been trying to get myself familiar with MT4. I am at the beginning of the long journey I beleive. I have been following the path of https://book.mql4.com/
This morning I copied the program described here: https://book.mql4.com/programm/execution
Then I put it on the chart and it worked properly; I saw all the three kind of alerts(init, start, deinit). Then I thought I would no longer need this program, so I deleted it. Then my wife came in and wanted to see how it worked. So I re-created the program, in a ways which was identical to the first one. Still, this second program does not alert me when new ticks arrives. It alerts only when the init, and the deinit part takes place.
I just wondering what could be the reason behind it.
Any help is highly appreciated
