Are there any server solutions available for running EAs ? - page 2

TheEconomist:
I used MT Mobile (demo) for a while... it was eating up to 4 MB daily... on an average usage of 8 hrs daily... I never went over my GPRS tariff plan of 300 MB monthly... shouldn't go over 180 MBs . But of course, for one pair...
Thanks. That's helpful.

Hello,

Can someone please explain how to run a EA on a (vps) server??

I have an EA I want to trade but I don't want to let my computer on 17 hours a day. . (I also wouldn't have to worry for losing power/internet connection).

I know where I can get a vps server, but what do I do when I have one?

Thank you very much in advance.

Paulan

I don't know either, cause I didn't set up the real trading for now, but the best thing you can do is ask their technical support about how to.

It's quite easy. Using the Web browser on your VPS, simply download MT4 and install it. Then, via FTP, upload your EA and insert it into the proper location vis Remote Desktop Connection. Then, run it!

Thanks billworld,

I'll test my EA a little bit further and then I will try it :)

I just searching in this forum to find this conversation, really it is a nice idea, recently I was planning to buy a PDA, and start to search for the proper type and model not forgetting the price factor. But with this idea, I can subscrbe in one of the options above, from the price of a PDA it will be enough for around 2 years membership period,,,,,

But still I have not tried it, to comment on it,,,,

Thank you for these information and ideas,,,,

I will return back to comment on it after trying it :-)

We have virtual desktop plans designed specifically for traders. Be sure and enable remote sound in your vps! We posted a document that describes how to do it. You don't need to subscribe to our vps to do this, so I am posting it here. If your host has a sound card on the virtual node then it should work. Here are the instructions to enable sound in a virtual server.

Anyway, may I recommend our virtual desktops for traders. They are the result of the feedback from many of our virtual server customers who were using them to trade.

I'm using one of Barry's (the post directly above) trader's virtual desktops, have been running live trading since February. Nice to not have to worry about my pc or connection going down.
