I research and develop short-term intraday trading strategies for EURUSD. I believe its high volume of daily trading activity provides a large amount of data for creating and testing strategies that are statistically easier to validate and execute.
Any strategy I conceptualize must be sound well before any form of refinement, filtering and optimization is applied. Then if the results remain stable during the months of forward testing on a live account under real market conditions I will add it to my main account and publish the signal here.
The goal is reasonable cost-effective growth at the lowest and shortest possible drawdown while providing a consistent, almost broker-agnostic execution which is critical for a predictable and reliable copying experience.
STRATEGY'S OVERVIEW:
No grid / No martingale
Anywhere from 0 to 5 daily trades, each managed independently
Filters: Regime / Spread / News (if someday no trade is executed, this is why)
Max 3 concurrent trades, under favorable market conditions only
Entry conditions: volatility / OB-OS / volume indicators + chart / candlesticks patterns
Exit conditions: opposite entry, time out, profit / stop levels
RECOMMENDED INITIAL BALANCE:
I trade this strategies my self, on a personal account with auto-scaling lot size and higher capital. The signals I publish here are going to have fixed lot size and low initial deposit so they can be easily copied on a bigger account to proportionally increase the size of the trades.
Next is how to calculate the recommended initial balance according to the profit you seek after factoring in the costs you forecast (VPS, signal, etc..):
Initial balance = [Desired net monthly profit + Total monthly costs] × 100 / Signal's monthly growth%
Desired net monthly profit: 100$
Total monthly costs: 10$ VPS + 30$ signal = $40 total
Signal's monthly growth%: 10
Initial balance = [$100 + $40] × 100 / 10 = $140 x 10 = $1400
(This is just an example with hypothetical numbers)
