As a developer, I agree with you. Because there is no robot which always win. You must trade carefully and close robots or select direction of market sometimes. Also Indicators shows only historical datas, I don't trust them.

Before using any EA, you should consider that EA uses risk management and money management to avoid big losses?
Then use that EA in demo account. After testing and ensuring sufficient reliability, you can use it on your real account.
EAs work based on your own strategies. There are many EAs that are profitable and reliable.
It should be kept in mind that the higher the profit, the higher the risk, which means that when you want big profits in every trade you have to take big risks.
Before using any EA, there are a few things you should consider:
1- What is the maximum amount of risk for each trade(minimum 1% and maximum 5% of the total balance is appropriate).
2- What is the maximum drawdown amount? And does the EA announce different drawdown levels? Or will the EA stop automatically when it reaches a certain level of drawdown ?
3- Does the EA you use support risk-free trading techniques?
