After a week of live testing and some additional optimization studies, Sentinel v4.9 is officially live today.
The Sentinel manual has also been updated — the working principles and rules of the manual trading buttons (Buy / Sell / Close) are now fully explained.
A quick note on pairs: Sentinel can now trade 7 fully optimized pairs. That said, I personally recommend running just 5:
EURUSD, GBPUSD, NZDCAD, AUDCAD and EURCAD
These five delivered the best risk-to-reward in my testing, and they're the only ones I run on my own account.
The remaining two — CADJPY and EURGBP — are also pre-optimized and ready to go. Feel free to add them depending on your risk appetite, but I prefer to keep it to the core five and not over-extend.

Robustness tests are an indispensable part of my algorithmic trading development process.
One of the most critical of these tests is the forward test.
Below are results from the same strategy, evaluated only on unseen data, with different parameterizations:
📉 In one case, the model completes the forward period with profit, but suffers a significant drawdown → limited robustness.
💥 In another, the model fails completely → clear overfitting.
📈 In a third case, the forward test shows stable and controlled equity growth → parameters that generalize.
Backtests can look convincing.
Forward tests reveal reality.
If a model cannot adapt beyond its calibration window, it is not robust — regardless of how good the backtest looks.
One of the most critical of these tests is the forward test.
Below are results from the same strategy, evaluated only on unseen data, with different parameterizations:
