You would apply it to your chart (ideally larger timeframes 1hr or daily) and wait for the signal. When the signal occurs it means the market will likely be more volatile ahead over the next 1-3 bars.
Theres no fixed way to trade after this. Its an indicator that gives you a heads up to future volatility.
