TECH100 Friday Breakout Pro

TECH100 Friday Breakout Pro is an automated trading Expert Advisor developed for MetaTrader 5. It trades a predefined Friday morning breakout setup on the Nasdaq-100 index using price-range conditions, structure-based stop-loss placement and equity-based position sizing.
The Expert Advisor is designed for traders who prefer a rules-based, automated approach rather than manually monitoring breakout opportunities.
Trading strategy
The system identifies a reference price range during a specific Friday morning trading window.
Once the required range conditions are satisfied, it monitors price movement for a bullish breakout. When the defined entry conditions are met, the Expert Advisor can automatically open a BUY position with a stop-loss and take-profit.
The strategy operates using fixed entry and exit rules rather than discretionary trading signals.

Position sizing and risk management
The Expert Advisor calculates trading volume from account equity, the selected risk percentage and the distance between entry and stop-loss.
Users can configure the planned risk percentage and maximum position size.
Broker-compatible price adjustments are applied when necessary to meet the instrument's tick-size requirements.
A planned 1% risk does not guarantee that the actual loss will be limited to 1%. Slippage, price gaps, spreads, commissions and other execution conditions can cause realized losses to exceed the planned amount.
Historical testing
The Expert Advisor has been evaluated in the MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester on US_TECH100 M15 using historical data and simulated broker execution.
One historical test using AvaTrade symbol specifications and a ZAR 20,000 initial deposit produced the following results:
-
Completed trades: 153
-
Winning trades: 75
-
Losing trades: 78
-
Historical net profit: ZAR 7,837.84
-
Profit factor: 1.48
-
Maximum relative equity drawdown: 6.48%
These results are from historical testing, not a live trading account. The tested history had 80% real-tick quality.
Performance may differ on other brokers, account sizes, symbol specifications and trading conditions. Past test results do not guarantee future profitability.
Installation and configuration
Install the Expert Advisor in MetaTrader 5 and attach it to the M15 chart of the intended Nasdaq-100 instrument.
Before enabling automated trading:
-
Verify that the broker offers a suitable Nasdaq-100 symbol.
-
Confirm the correct broker-server-to-South-African-time offset.
-
Configure the planned risk percentage and maximum lot size.
-
Enable automated order placement and live trading in the EA settings when appropriate.
-
Ensure automated trading is permitted in the MetaTrader terminal.
-
Test the configuration in Strategy Tester and on a demo account before live use.
The Expert Advisor is intended for a single appropriately configured trading instance on its trading symbol.
Operational considerations
The Expert Advisor requires MetaTrader 5 to remain connected and operating when managing trades.
Broker-side stop-loss and take-profit orders may continue to operate while the terminal is disconnected, subject to broker execution conditions. However, the EA does not provide full recovery of its internal trading state following a terminal restart. Restarting the terminal while a trade is open may interrupt time-based position management.
Manual inspection of open positions is recommended after any terminal interruption.
Risk notice
Trading leveraged financial instruments involves significant risk, including the possibility of losing part or all of the trading capital.
The Expert Advisor does not guarantee profits, minimum returns or maximum drawdown limits.
Customers should evaluate its suitability for their account, broker conditions and risk tolerance before using it with real funds.
