Sextant EURUSD is an intraday trading system for EURUSD, with a fixed stop loss and take profit on every trade. No grid, no martingale, no averaging, no hedging. Launch price $129 — next price $199.

HOW IT TRADES
• Checks the market at set points through the trading day and opens a trade only when a move meets all of its conditions.
• Opens one position at a time. Every order is sent with a stop loss and take profit already attached.
• Closes any trade still open after 30 minutes, so nothing is left running overnight.
• Trades rarely and selectively: about 60–120 trades a year, depending on the profile. Weeks without a trade are normal.

STRATEGY PROFILES
• Conservative: only the strongest setups. Fewest trades, highest edge per trade.
• Balanced (default): the recommended mix of frequency and quality.
• Active: also takes weaker setups. More trades, smaller edge per trade. Use only on a low-cost account.

BACKTEST RESULTS
EURUSD, every tick based on real ticks, January 2019 – October 2026, 1.0 lot fixed, net of $7 per lot commission:
• Conservative: 62 trades/year, +1.7 pips per trade, profit factor 1.76, win rate 63%, all 8 years positive
• Balanced: 71 trades/year, +1.4 pips per trade, profit factor 1.66, win rate 61%, all 8 years positive
• Active: 117 trades/year, +0.9 pips per trade, profit factor 1.35, win rate 58%, all 8 years positive
With the default position size (0.20 lots per $1,000 of equity), the largest drawdown in this period was about 9%.

ACCOUNT PROTECTION
• Hard risk cap: a trade is skipped if its stop would lose more than your chosen % of equity (default 5%).
• Daily loss limit: stops trading for the rest of the day once equity falls a set % below its start-of-day level.
• Drawdown guard: closes the trade and pauses the EA at a set % below peak equity. These limits survive a terminal restart.
• Max trades per day, max lot size, max spread and max slippage.
• Prop-firm preset included.

FLEXIBLE SETTINGS
• Position sizing: lots per $1,000 of equity (default), risk % per trade, or fixed lot.
• Trading window: choose the first and last trading hour, skip specific hours, and switch individual weekdays on or off.
• Info panel on the chart: status, profile, live spread, open position, today's trades and P/L. It can sit in any corner.
• Pop-up alerts and push notifications when a trade opens or closes.
• Optional trade journal (CSV).
• Five presets included: Balanced, Conservative, Active, Low Risk, Prop Firm.

REQUIREMENTS
• Symbol: EURUSD (any broker suffix). Any chart timeframe; the EA reads M1 data itself.
• Account: ECN or raw-spread account recommended (EURUSD spread around 0.5 pip or less, commission $7 per lot or less). The edge per trade is a few pips, so trading costs matter.
• Minimum deposit: $100. $500 or more allows finer position sizing.
• A VPS is recommended so the EA is running when setups appear.

BACKTESTING TIPS
• Use "Every tick based on real ticks". Bar-based models fill too optimistically for a system that holds trades for minutes.
• Test on your own broker's data. Spreads at the moment of entry differ between brokers.

GOOD TO KNOW
• Results depend on market conditions. On older 2015–2018 bar data the system was roughly break-even to slightly negative, so it does not win in every market regime.
• Past performance does not guarantee future results. Trade only with money you can afford to lose.
