QuietPip EURUSD

QuietPip — EURUSD Volatility-Regime Scalper

High Historical Profit Factor. Low Historical Drawdown. Selective Trading.

QuietPip is a specialized Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5, designed to trade EURUSD when market conditions are favorable and stand aside when volatility expands.

Rather than chasing every market movement, QuietPip waits for specific price-action conditions, applies a volatility filter, and manages each position with a predefined stop loss and an automated trailing stop.

The objective is simple: focus on trade quality, control exposure through fixed lot sizing, and avoid unnecessary trading during unfavorable market conditions.

  • Profit factor up to 2.27 in the documented backtest.

  • Maximum equity drawdown as low as 2.76% in the documented backtest.

  • Fixed lot sizing — no martingale, no grid, no averaging down.

  • Initial stop loss attached to every position.

  • Selective entries with a volatility-regime filter.

  • Two profiles to suit different trading preferences.

These figures are historical test results, not guarantees of future performance.

⭐ BACKTEST HIGHLIGHTS

QuietPip was tested on real EURUSD tick data using MetaTrader 5's Strategy Tester.

Both profiles produced a profit factor above 2.0, with maximum historical equity drawdown below 4% during the tested period.

Compare the two profiles

Metric Standard Conservative
Profit factor 2.08 2.27
Maximum equity drawdown 3.59% 2.76%
Maximum balance drawdown 2.79% 1.95%
Win rate 66% 69%
Total trades 47 39
Net profit +$17.02 +$15.22

Conservative is the more selective profile in this test. Standard allows more trading opportunities. Both use the same strategy and differ only in their volatility threshold.

These results cover one six-month historical period with a relatively small number of trades. Different market conditions and live execution can produce materially different results.

🎯 DESIGNED FOR SELECTIVE TRADING

1. Trade when volatility conditions are suitable

QuietPip evaluates the broader market volatility before entering. When volatility reaches the configured ceiling, the EA skips new entries.

The goal is to avoid treating every large candle as a valid opportunity regardless of the surrounding market conditions.

2. Follow short-term price direction

The EA monitors the developing M1 candle and looks for a range exceeding the configured minimum. When the entry conditions are satisfied, it trades in the candle's direction.

3. Built-in stop-loss protection

Every position is opened with an initial stop loss based on the previous M1 candle's extreme, constrained to a distance of 50–100 points.

The initial stop is submitted with the order, providing broker-side protection once accepted by the broker.

4. Automated trailing stop

Once the position reaches +100 points of favorable movement, the trailing stop activates and follows price at a 50-point distance.

There is no fixed take-profit target. Positions close through the original stop loss or the trailing stop.

5. No aggressive recovery mechanisms

QuietPip uses a fixed lot size. It does not increase position size to recover previous losses.

No martingale. No grid. No averaging down.

🛡️ THREE MARKET FILTERS

QuietPip combines its entry signal with three configurable filters.

Volatility ceiling — the core filter

Uses ATR(14) on M30 to identify periods of elevated volatility. The default threshold is 120 points for Standard and 105 points for Conservative.

Expanded-day guard

Blocks entries when the current day's range reaches 1.40 times the average range of the previous five days.

Swing-extreme filter

Avoids buying near the upper extreme or selling near the lower extreme of the previous 24 M5 bars.

Each market filter can be switched off independently. Execution safeguards also check spread, trading permissions, and free margin before an order is submitted.

💰 FLEXIBLE LOT SIZE — YOU CONTROL YOUR EXPOSURE

QuietPip uses fixed lot sizing, allowing you to choose a position size that suits your account and risk tolerance.

The documented backtests used 0.01 lots on a $100 account. Users with more capital may choose a different lot size, provided it is appropriate for their risk budget, stop distance, and account conditions.

For illustration, increasing from 0.01 to 0.02 lots approximately doubles the monetary exposure per trade under comparable conditions. Increasing to 0.05 lots approximately multiplies it by five.

A larger lot size can increase profits when trades are profitable, but it also increases losses by the same proportion. A larger margin balance alone does not make a position safe.

Recommended approach: Start with the tested lot-size configuration or lower, evaluate performance on your own broker, and increase exposure only if the resulting potential losses remain acceptable.

Low historical drawdown is not a guarantee of low future drawdown, especially when position size is increased.

⚙️ TWO SIMPLE PROFILES

Standard — MaxAtr30Pts = 120

Allows entries across a broader range of volatility conditions. It produced more trades and higher net profit in the documented test.

Conservative — MaxAtr30Pts = 105

Uses a stricter volatility ceiling. It produced a higher profit factor and lower drawdown in the documented test.

All other settings are identical. Select the profile that best matches your preferences, rather than assuming one will always outperform the other.

Important compatibility note

QuietPip is calibrated specifically for EURUSD with five-digit pricing. It is not intended for other currency pairs or symbols.

On a five-digit EURUSD quote, 3 points is typically 0.3 pip. If your broker's spread frequently exceeds this limit, the EA may trade rarely or not at all.

🚀 QUICK START

  1. Open an EURUSD chart on the M5 timeframe.

  2. Attach QuietPip to the chart.

  3. Enable AutoTrading and allow algorithmic trading in the EA settings.

  4. Keep MaxAtr30Pts = 120 for Standard, or set it to 105 for Conservative.

  5. Begin with the default LotSize = 0.01 or a smaller size appropriate for your account.

  6. Verify the startup message in the Experts tab.

  7. Allow the EA time to identify valid conditions.

QuietPip is intentionally a low-frequency EA. Approximately 1.5–2 trades per week occurred during the documented test period. Long periods without a trade are normal.

A stable connection and VPS are recommended. The original stop loss remains on the broker's server, but the EA must be running to update the trailing stop.

❓ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why does QuietPip trade so infrequently?

It requires a specific combination of candle range, spread, and volatility conditions. It is designed to skip unsuitable conditions rather than trade continuously.

Can I use it on other currency pairs?

No. The strategy is calibrated for EURUSD, and its point-based thresholds are not designed to transfer to other symbols.

Does it use martingale or grid trading?

No. Position size is fixed, and the EA does not average down or increase lots to recover losses.

Why is my EA not opening trades?

Check the spread first. It must be 3 points or less at entry. Also check the market filters, trading permissions, free margin, and Experts-tab messages.

Can I increase the lot size?

Yes, the fixed lot-size input allows you to choose a different position size. However, larger lots increase both potential profits and potential losses. Size positions according to your risk budget, not just available margin.

Will my results match the backtest?

Not necessarily. Spreads, commissions, slippage, execution delays, broker history, and market conditions can materially affect live results.

Does it close trades using a take-profit target?

No. Trades are closed by the initial stop loss or the trailing stop.

📈 BACKTEST METHODOLOGY

The documented results were obtained using:

  • EURUSD, M5.

  • Every tick based on real ticks.

  • April 21 – October 20, 2026.

  • 9,686,019 real ticks processed.

  • $100 initial deposit.

  • 1:100 leverage.

  • 0.01 fixed lots.

  • 100 ms execution delay.

  • ICMarketsSC-MT5-3 (Raw Trading Ltd), real account.

The results can be compared in the MT5 Strategy Tester using matching inputs and available historical data. Different tick histories and execution conditions can produce different reports.

The limited number of trades means that the reported statistics should be interpreted cautiously. Historical results do not establish future profitability.

🔒 TRANSPARENT BY DESIGN

QuietPip does not use martingale, grid trading, averaging down, automatic hedging of its own losses, DLL imports, WebRequest calls, or file writing. It communicates with your broker to execute and manage trades.

Support covers installation, settings, execution troubleshooting, and reproducing the documented tests. Custom modifications, other symbols, and expectations about future returns are outside the scope of support.

For troubleshooting, include your broker and account type, a screenshot of the chart panel, relevant Experts-tab messages, and your EA settings.

⚠️ RISK DISCLAIMER

QuietPip's backtest results come from one broker and one six-month historical period. They are provided for transparency and reproducibility, not as a promise of future returns.

Past performance does not guarantee future results. Stop orders may execute at worse prices during gaps or fast markets. Trading costs, slippage, changing market conditions, and increased lot sizes can materially affect results.

Trading leveraged financial instruments involves substantial risk of loss. You may lose some or all of your trading capital.

Only trade with money you can afford to lose. Test the EA on your own broker and understand its risks before using it on a live account.
