Orama Market Map 3D Multi Asset Heatmap

In Greek, orama means what is seen. Orama shows you the whole market at once, and what in it really moves.
Every symbol in your Market Watch, grouped in eight asset classes, as one map on your chart in 2D, 2.5D and free 3D. See which classes lead, which symbols move against their own usual pace, and which of them are already in your book. One click opens the chart.

Why Orama

Most market overviews on MetaTrader are a list or a flat heatmap of one asset class, coloured by percent change. A 2% day on Bitcoin then looks bigger than a 0.3% day on EURUSD, although the euro move may be the rarer one, and a busy market looks the same as a quiet one.

Orama puts every symbol of your Market Watch in one map, grouped by asset class, and measures each one against itself: the move in daily ATRs, and the activity of the last minutes against that symbol's own usual pace. Quiet markets go flat, movers stand out, and closed markets are grey. Every number tells you how good the data behind it is.

1. Three views of the whole market

  • Market Landscape: every asset class an island, every symbol a block. Colour = the move, height = activity (or a blend of move and activity). The strongest stand at the back, the weakest at the front
  • Relative Strength Wall: one column per class, symbols ranked from strong to weak, the size of the move comes towards you, with a line where up turns into down
  • Class Correlation: a matrix of how the classes moved together over the last days (15-minute returns). In 3D a negative correlation goes below the zero plane, so the sign shows in the shape, not only in the colour

2. 2D, 2.5D and free 3D

Every view works in three displays. 2D is a flat, exact map with a tooltip on every tile. 2.5D shows the same scene at a fixed angle: drag to move, wheel to zoom. 3D gives a free camera with axis lock, optional inertia, Front, Side, Top and Iso views, a fly-through and double-click to reset. Focus mode (key H) folds the side panels away, so the map gets the whole window, ideal on a second monitor.

3. Made to compare across asset classes

  • Colour: percent change, or strength = the move divided by the daily ATR(14), from the previous close, today's open or N bars back on M5 to H4
  • Activity: the pace of the last 15 to 240 minutes against the symbol's own usual pace over 5 to 20 days
  • X-Ray: quiet symbols with a small move go flat and faded, so the movers are never hidden
  • Spurts: a brass halo on a symbol that moved a set share of its ATR within 3, 5 or 10 minutes, a Spurts list in the movers, and the whole island lights up when several symbols of one class spurt at once
  • Tooltip: the move over 1 hour, today, since the close, the week and yesterday, today's range in ATR, the spread against its usual spread, and the symbols it moves with

4. Your book on the map

  • Symbols with an open position get an edge: teal net long, orange net short, brass hedged; pending orders a thin grey edge. Netting and hedging accounts
  • Exposure that compares across classes: size the blocks by your position in lots, notional value or margin, calculated in your account currency, so a gold position and a EURUSD position are measured on the same scale. The category strip shows your net exposure per asset class. My positions only (key K) shows just the symbols you hold
  • A prop hint: the edge turns red when a symbol ran a set number of ATRs against your position. A hint, never a limit
  • Orama only reads positions. P&L can be hidden on screen and is hidden in exports by default

5. Honest about the data

On forex and most CFDs there is no central volume: activity counts price changes per minute, not contracts. Orama labels every symbol and every class TICK, REAL (exchange volume) or THIN (too little history), and says so in every tooltip. Closed markets are grey and flat and never count as movers or alerts. The correlation matrix shows historical co-movement of class averages, never a forecast; classes without enough common bars are left out instead of guessed.

6. One clear panel

  • View, Symbols, Settings, Log and Help tabs; movers (spurts, up, down, most active) and a category strip per class, all one click from the chart. A click opens the chart of a symbol, or brings an open one to the front, with your own chart template and time frame if you like
  • Eight asset classes recognised automatically from the name, the broker's folder and the contract; you can move any symbol to another class and see why it got its class
  • Filters per class, pins, three watchlist baskets and Top-N per class. Open markets only leaves closed markets out, so in the Asian session you see what trades now instead of a map of grey tiles
  • Alerts when a symbol enters the top movers or moves beyond a % or ATR threshold: pop-up, push notification, sound; never on a closed market
  • Presets per trading style (Scalper movers, Day-trader landscape, Swing breadth, Prop overview) and for the mouse (Precise, Balanced, Fast)
  • Seven themes, light and dark; export of the panel as a picture; a session label (Asia, London, New York) in the header
  • Light on the terminal: daily, 15-minute and 1-minute bars only, never tick history, a symbol limit and a pace that slows down by itself when the terminal is busy. DirectX 11 with a software renderer for computers without it

Works well with Agora, Kairos Guard Pro, DayLock, EA Sentinel, Pentad, Panoptic and ChronoReplay

Orama shows where in the whole market things move. Agora 3D Order Flow shows the depth of one symbol (press A over a block to open its chart for Agora), Kairos Guard Pro guards the moment around news and spread spikes, DayLock guards the account against your daily and max loss, EA Sentinel Guard Pro scores every robot on the account, Pentad Multi Strategy EA and Panoptic Market Dashboard trade and read the markets, and ChronoReplay lets you practise on history. Separate products; each works on its own.

Up and running in three steps

  1. Drag Orama onto any chart. It opens its own panel and reads your Market Watch within seconds (add symbols with Ctrl+U).
  2. Pick a trading style on the Settings tab (Day-trader landscape suits most traders) and press Apply.
  3. Choose a view and a display: keys 1–3 for Landscape, Wall and Matrix, M for 2D, 2.5D or 3D. Drag to turn, wheel to zoom, double-click to reset, click a symbol to open its chart.

The user guide (PDF) is attached in the Comments tab.

  • Platform: MetaTrader 5 desktop; DirectX 11 recommended, software renderer included
  • Symbols: every symbol in Market Watch plus every symbol you hold, up to 300 (default 120)
  • Data: your broker's daily, 15-minute and 1-minute bars; no tick history, no DLLs and no web requests. Push notifications go through MetaQuotes' service, like any MT5 notification
  • Files: settings, a daily log and the class report in MQL5\Files\Orama
  • Language: English interface and user guide

Good to know

  • On forex and CFD symbols the broker sends tick volume, not exchange volume; activity then counts price changes. Orama says so on every symbol and class.
  • Asset classes come from the symbol name, the broker's folder and the contract. Brokers name symbols differently; if one lands in the wrong class, one click on the Symbols tab moves it, and the tooltip says why it got its class.
  • The first read of a large Market Watch takes a few seconds; the header shows the progress.
  • The session label is approximate (UTC, without daylight saving).
  • In the Strategy Tester the visual mode shows the panel; the non-visual mode stays idle.

Important

Orama is an analysis tool. It shows where the market moved and how busy it is; it does not predict where it will go and it is not investment advice. Trading leveraged products carries a high risk of losing money. Questions are answered in the comments and private messages on this site.
