Prop Risk Guard Pro MT5

Prop Risk Guard Pro watches your whole account and steps in before a prop firm's loss limit is breached. On top of the daily and maximum loss limits it caps the loss on each trade, adds missing stop losses, limits how much you trade, keeps you out of high-impact news and closes everything before the weekend.

Attach it to any one chart. It monitors every position on the account: every symbol, every Expert Advisor and every manual trade.

Firm presets
Pick your firm and the guard measures the limits the way that firm does:
- FTMO 2-Step: daily 5% of the initial balance, counted from the balance at midnight Prague time (CE(S)T); maximum loss 10%, static
- FTMO 1-Step: daily 3%, same counting; maximum loss 10%, trailing the highest midnight balance (it never moves down)
- FundedNext Stellar 2-Step: daily 5% of the initial balance from the balance at server midnight; maximum loss 10%, static
- The5ers High Stakes: daily 5% of the higher of balance and equity at server midnight; maximum loss 10%, static
- Custom: set every rule yourself
The presets follow the rules the firms published in October 2026. Firms change their rules: compare the panel with your firm's dashboard before trading.

Day reset in the firm's own time zone
The daily limit can reset at any time in server time, Central European time (Prague), New York time or UTC. Summer time is handled automatically, so a reset at midnight Prague time stays at midnight Prague time all year, whatever your broker's server clock is.

What it does when a limit gets close
- Closes all open positions and deletes pending orders
- Keeps trading locked: any new trade opened during the lock (by you or an EA) is closed at once
- Daily limit: locked until the next reset. Maximum-loss limit: locked for good
- Safety buffer: steps in at, for example, 80% of a limit, so slippage and gaps can't push you over
- Pop-up alerts and push notifications to your phone

Per-trade protection
- Per-trade loss cap: closes a single trade once its loss reaches your cap (for example 1% of the initial balance)
- Trades without a stop loss: leave them, close them, or let the guard add a stop loss at the price where the trade would lose exactly your cap. A grace period (default 10 seconds) gives EAs time to set their own stop

Trade limits
- Maximum open positions, maximum total lots and maximum new trades per day. A new trade over a limit is closed at once

News lock
- Uses MetaTrader's built-in economic calendar: no web requests, nothing to set up
- Blocks new trades from X minutes before to X minutes after a high-impact release (optionally medium-impact too), only on symbols that use the currency of the release (USD news blocks EURUSD and XAUUSD, not EURGBP)
- Optional: also close open trades in those symbols before the release
- The panel shows the next release for your symbols
- On some terminals the calendar runs on UTC instead of the server clock; the guard detects this from the US releases at 8:30 New York time and converts the times itself

Friday close
- Closes everything at a time you choose on Friday (server time) and keeps trading locked until Monday 00:00 server time

The panel shows the active rules, equity, today's result, the exact floor for the daily and maximum limits, how much of each limit is used, the per-trade cap, the trade limits, the next news release, when the day resets and whether trading is locked.

Try it in the Strategy Tester
In the tester the guard opens random demo trades (tester only, never on a live chart) so you can watch it warn, add stops, close trades and lock. The news calendar is not available in the tester, so the news lock only works on live charts.

How it was tested
Strategy Tester, PU Prime history, 1-minute OHLC, 100,000 USD account, deliberately oversized random trades:
- FTMO 2-Step preset, XAUUSD, January to April 2026: the daily lock fired at 83% of the limit and lifted at 01:00 server time (midnight Prague); the maximum-loss lock fired at 81%; a stop loss was added to every trade without one; the 4th trade of the day was closed when the limit was 3; everything was closed on Friday at 22:00 and trading resumed on Monday
- FTMO 1-Step preset, EURUSD: the maximum-loss floor followed the highest midnight balance (91,514.96, then 91,620.33) and never moved down; trades were closed at the per-trade cap
- Custom rules with a 17:00 New York reset across the March clock changes: the day lasted 23 hours when the US changed its clocks and 25 hours when Europe did, as it should
- News lock on a live terminal (2-minute window): US CPI was placed at 15:30 server time (8:30 New York); a trade at 15:29 would be blocked, one at 15:33 allowed
No limit was crossed in any run.

Good to know
- The terminal must be running for the guard to work (a VPS is recommended for funded accounts)
- If the terminal was off at the daily reset, the day-start value is taken when it comes back online; the panel shows when it was taken
- For a trailing maximum loss that started before you attached the guard, enter your highest balance so far
- The per-trade cap closes at market, so a fast market can fill a little beyond it; a stop loss set by the guard is placed exactly at the cap
- A saved lock survives restarts. To clear it (for example after entering wrong limits), set "Clear a saved lock" to true once
- Works on hedging and netting accounts (on netting accounts the trade limits count positions)

Inputs
- Firm rules: Custom or a firm preset
- Initial (challenge) balance: 0 = balance when first attached
- Trailing max loss: highest balance so far (0 = start from now)
- Custom daily limit: %, measured as % of the initial balance or of the day-start value, counted from balance, equity or the higher of the two, reset time zone, hour and minute
- Custom maximum loss: %, static, trailing (highest equity) or end-of-day trailing (highest day-start balance), stop trailing at the initial balance
- Step in at % of a limit (default 80), warn at % (default 60), daily profit target (0 = off)
- Delete pending orders, close new trades while locked, clear a saved lock
- Per-trade loss cap, % of the initial balance (0 = off); trades without a stop loss: leave / add a stop / close; grace period in seconds
- Max open positions, max total lots, max new trades per day (0 = off)
- News: off / block new trades / block and close; minutes before and after; include medium impact
- Friday close: on/off, hour and minute (server time)
- Pop-up alerts, push notifications, panel on/off, corner, font size
- Tester demo trades (Strategy Tester only)
