Miner Scalping Gold is an automated breakout Expert Advisor for MetaTrader 5, developed specifically for XAUUSD.

The EA reads recent market structure to locate zones where a genuine breakout is likely, then places pending orders around those zones. It does not attempt to predict direction — it lets the market break first and takes whichever side actually moves. Every order is sent with a predefined Stop Loss and Take Profit already attached, so no position is ever left unprotected.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

• Miner Scalping Gold is built around one idea: trade the break, not the forecast.
• The EA continuously evaluates recent price structure on gold and identifies levels where a breakout would be meaningful rather than noise. It then waits. Orders are only placed when the conditions are met, and entry levels are re-evaluated continuously so they track the current market instead of going stale.
• Because the EA reacts to price rather than predicting it, there are periods with no trades at all — particularly when gold is ranging or lacks momentum. This is intended behaviour, not a fault.

TRADE MANAGEMENT

• Every order carries its Stop Loss and Take Profit from the moment it is sent.
• Once a position is live, three layers of management run:
• Fixed Take Profit — the position closes at a predefined distance. The default configuration targets a 1:3 reward-to-risk ratio.
• Breakeven lock — after the trade moves a defined distance into profit, the Stop Loss is advanced to secure part of that gain.
• Trailing stop — as the move continues, the Stop Loss follows price at a fixed distance with a step filter, so it only moves when the improvement is meaningful. The stop is monotonic and never moves backwards.

RISK MANAGEMENT

• Position size is controlled with a single dropdown:
• Fixed Lot — a constant volume on every trade
• Risk % of balance — volume derived from balance, your chosen risk percentage, and the Stop Loss distance
• No martingale. No grid. No averaging down. No recovery stacking. Lot size never increases after a loss.

Additional controls:

• Spread filter — no orders while spread exceeds your limit, and existing pending orders are cancelled if spread widens beyond it
• Session hours — optional restriction to a defined trading window
• Friday exit — optional cancellation of pending orders ahead of the weekend gap

BROKER COMPATIBILITY

1. Gold is quoted differently across brokers, and this EA absorbs that automatically.
2. Symbol naming — XAUUSD, XAUUSD-ECN, XAUUSD.a, XAUUSDm, XAUUSDr, XAUUSD_i, GOLD, GOLD.i, GOLD#, GOLDmicro and similar variants are all detected automatically. No configuration needed.
3. Quote precision — both 2-digit (4000.00) and 3-digit (4000.000) gold feeds are supported. The same input values produce the same price distances on either feed.
4. Execution — filling mode is read from the symbol, prices are snapped to the broker's tick grid, and volumes are normalised to the broker's minimum, maximum and step. Stop Loss and Take Profit are validated against the broker's minimum stops level before every order is sent, and free margin is checked before every order.
5. At startup the EA prints a diagnostic block to the Experts log showing resolved pip size, stops level, freeze level, volume specification and current spread — so any broker-specific issue is visible immediately instead of appearing later as a silent rejection.

ACCOUNT REQUIREMENT

• A HEDGING account is required.
• The EA can hold pending orders on both sides of the market at the same time. On a netting account these would offset each other and the strategy could not function as designed. If a netting account is detected, the EA still initialises and continues managing any open position, but new entries are disabled and a warning is written to the log.

DASHBOARD

1. A built-in on-chart panel shows account status, current spread against your configured limit, active session, pending order count, open positions, floating P/L, margin level, a live equity curve, a drawdown gauge, and today / this week / this month performance for the EA's own magic number.
2. Two controls are available directly from the panel:

4. Close All — closes positions and removes pending orders belonging to this EA

The panel is disabled automatically during non-visual backtests, so it costs nothing during optimisation.

BACKTESTING NOTES

The EA can be tested in the MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester using XAUUSD historical data.
Use "Every tick based on real ticks". The "Open prices only" model will produce misleading output, because trailing and breakeven logic require intra-bar resolution.
Make sure your chart has sufficient history loaded before running. On a freshly opened chart with thin history the EA will simply wait until enough data is available.
Backtest results reflect historical data under one broker's spread and execution model. Live conditions differ due to spread, slippage, execution speed, liquidity, VPS latency and volatility. Backtest performance is not a prediction of future results.

It monitors continuously but only enters when its conditions are met. Optional session-hour and Friday-exit filters are available if you prefer to restrict trading windows.

9. Are updates free?
