Keep in mind that markets behaves depending on their fundamentals, for example hi cap stocks, stocks indices and forex pairs tend to be mean reverting while many commodities and most volatile stocks respond well to breakout strategies. Also the time frames on which You are trading these instruments matter in this regard. A good portfolio o f markets and systems includes both breakout and mean reverting strategies run on several uncorrelated markets.
