The default settings will work fine. Only change the settings when you have back tested the indicator and you have found a setting that works best in a certain pair.

sorry, here is the figure I referred to in my previous comment
It seems to me that in the short "bearish" trend painted by trendlaser in this example, the closing price difference between the bar corresponding to the sell signal (yellow dot) and that corresponding to the buy signal (blue dot) is actually negative, that is actually a losing trade.
Am I wrong?

buffer 19 is max profit recorded from past signals. It is just a statistical value, to be used as reference purposes only

The default settings will work fine. Only change the settings when you have back tested the indicator and you have found a setting that works best in a certain pair.
If you are going to use it as trend filter you can increase the period value 4 and above.
If you want to use it as entry point you can use the period 2 or 3

Лохотронский индикатор. Когда цвет меняется, новый цвет рисуется не с текущего бара, а с отступом на один бар в прошлое. Поэтому, глядя на индикатор на истории не видны места, когда происходили частые смены цвета. Индикатjр напоминает всем известный лохотронский индикатора SuperTrend.
