Вы не разобрались в сути работы робота и применяете его неверно. Поэтому робот сообщает Вам о Вашей ошибке.
Робот предусматривает два базовых понятия:
1. Направление торговли. Оно задается параметром "Direction". В этом направлении Вы или какой-либо другой Ваш робот ставите торговые позиции. Их может быть много.
2. Направление локирования. Это направление, противоположное направлению торговли. В этом направлении никто не должен ставить ордера и позиции. В этом направлении только робот "Lock balancer" должен ставить при необходимости локирующий ордер. Робот всегда использует только один локирующий ордер.

Таким образом, если в сторону локирования кто-то поставил лишний ордер или позицию, тогда это мешает роботу "Lock balancer", поэтому он выдает ошибку.

The scenario I want to use it in is I am manually trading and want to use Lock Balancer as my stop loss instead of a stop loss.   So say I am about to enter a Buy trade, I am assuming I activate Lock Balance on a chart in Manual Mode and set its work direction as sell. Then I open my trade.

 What I was expecting was that I could move the blue line to the area where I wanted the SL/Lock to be, but it doesn't let me move the line.  Secondly the instant I open a trade Lock Balancer closes it.  I have tried a few different variants after watching the video for Adaptive lock but I am not able to get the expert working as I would have expected.

 Can you help me in what I am doing wrong? Or provide some written instructions on how to set up for my scenario

You misunderstood how to set the direction of trade.
You trade manually and set up a BUY deal with your hands. This is considered the main position. It determines the direction of work that needs to be shown to the robot. In this case, the robot parameter "Direction" must be set to BUY. You will succeed.

You are about to use the "Lock balancer" robot to work with the positions that another robot has set. In this case, set the same Magic for both robots.

I bought your robot, are you able to provide some set files or  more guidelines/examples how to set the correct price level in order for the EA not to close the locks with loss? And is there a way to configure the EA to set a lock at DD amount instead of price?

Lock balancer robot does not need set-files, since there are few input parameters, the robot is designed to accompany manual strategies, and often the parameters need to be adjusted during the trading process, depending on the market situation.

In order to minimize losses from locks, you need to set the locking line behind an important extremum. The fact is that with small price fluctuations near this line, many lock and unlock cycles will occur. There will be small losses in each cycle. The robot has an algorithm for minimizing losses, but it is still better when less fluctuations are allowed. It is better to organize locking at an important level, so that if the price passes through it, the price without hesitation goes far enough. Then the lock will be almost lossless.
