Hi Fabio. The backtest is slow because the EA works at tick level and there are some complex calculations.

One way to test it faster is to break it down. For instance you run 2 years at the time and you put as starting capilal the balance achieved by the last test.

So around 61 percent max drawdown. However according to the developer this is very risky to run. I could try with a small amout just for fun...

Dear trader. I recommend to stop the EA today and start again tomorrow due major Brexit vote.

It’s a big week for Brexit negotiations. On Tuesday, MPs will vote on Theresa May’s Brexit deal. The agreement was negotiated with the EU and remains virtually unchanged, despite being resoundingly voted down in January. Should that be rejected, there will be a second vote on Wednesday on whether to pursue a no-deal exit. If that fails, a third vote on Thursday will determine if Brexit should be delayed. As it stands, the UK is due to leave the EU on March 29.

Given the result of yesterday's vote on Brexit, also today and tomorrow there will be major Brexit vote. To avoid unnecessary risk I recommed to let the EA off untill things are a bit calmer again.

Sorry for this but any Brexit vote can cause an impredictable volatility and price behaviour that is virtually impossible to incorporate in any algorithm. In Addition the news filter incorporated in teh EA may not be sufficient to prevent risky trades, especially if grid orders kick in.

My signal is also stopped.

I just released a new version of HIBgRID. Unfortunately there was an issue with the "safer risk mode" option.
I have removed it for now and corrected the description of the GMT offset for news filter in order not to confuse it with the broker GMT offset.


Please download the new version both for backtest and real trading.

As I get this question from many of you, I wold like to explain better the Broker GMT offset parameter because it is vital.

Broker GMT offset. The EA is designed to work with a New York close broker, meaning GMT +2 or GMT +3 during DLS. So if you run the EA with a new close broker like ICmarkets or Darwinex, or Axitrade leave the parameter as standard settings.

Hi Luca, I am live since Monday and I got 3 trades with HIBgRID standard settings. All closed with profits. Is that correct? Anybody with the same results?

Same results with BigBenCliber but not the same direction. Is this normal?

Are you using ICM true ECN?

What spread and slippage settings are you using?

This period is not simple with all teh Brexit votes. The EA has volatility filters and stationary filters that look at teh price action and if too volatile or trending durign the Asian session does not open any trades.

The philosofy of HIBgRID is that only trades with potential success rate higher than 85% are taken so it is very conservative. So the idea is to let the EA there and have a slow but constant growth. Better not to trade than to lose money. Not trading is also a decision in this case.

You migth want to increase teh slippage filters in case.
