Just did a test from 2015-2019, using very conservative running mode (where max loss would be 10% for a single grid):

Despite the MT5 having much more losses than the MT4 Tickdata tests, it is still a very nice growth curve, with 10K going to 2Million in 4 years time.  Even if it would be half, or 1/4th of that, it would still be very nice :-)

Will now do a test with a 5% max risk on a 20K account.. should still very interesting and very low risk

And here a test with 20k balance start using (manual) risk=5% per max loss:

Another quick test, running the 4 best pair (AUNZD, AUDCAD, EURUSD and EURGBP) on a 3K account on medium risk. 2015-2019.

VERSION 5.6 AVAILABLE

- Fixed wrong "next lotsize increase" value XAUUSD

- Added SL Lines on the chart

- Added Safety HardSL and HardTP Option (for VPS/connection errors)

- fixed bug for XAUUSD SEA

So now, you can see the pricelevel where the EA would take the Max Loss (historical max DD).  It will adjust for each new grid trade

Also (and a nice safety feature), you can now set a Hard SL and Hard TP around the levels where the EA would normally take the loss or profit.

There are 2 new parameters for this:

  • Enable hard SL at X pips from MaxLoss line (-1=disabled): if you set the value at X pips (> 0), the EA will put a hard SL at X pips from the SL level
  • Enable hard TP at X pips from FlashTP line (-1=disabled): if you set the value at X pips (> 0), the EA will put a hard TP at X pips from the TP level

A good value for both parameters is "10".  so then the EA would set a hard SL 10 pips away from the SL level for example

these hard SL and hard TP will also automatically adjust to the grid size.

These parameters are a good solution, for problems such as: VPS failure, connection lost, EA stopped trading and you didn't notice.  So basically if anything goes wrong and you didn't notice it.

there was also a problem with XAUUSD virtual spread when using a 2-digit broker.  That is fixed now.

After I start the Grid King MT5 EA on any chart I receive the following error back and it quits itself: "zero divide in 'Grid_King_MT5_5.71.mq5' (2391,80)"

This problem occures only when I select "Run all pairs from a single chart" = true. When I select false it works normally.

Has anybody else faced this problem?

Hi,

Make sure ALL pairs are enabled in the market watch.  This is probably the cause of the error

Do you mean all 20 pairs or only the ones I selected for trading? Because those are enabled already.

I found the problem. Because my pairs are using a suffix like EURUSD.p. I had to add that to the selected pairs. Now it works.

Thanks for your quick support.

VERSION 5.8 RELEASED!!

Very nice update again:

- Improved algorithm for filtering correlated pairs and 'trading in same direction'

- Added gbpcad and nzdcad

- Improved "equity drawdown" algorithm

The 2 new pair's performance have been added to the blog

Here is the new Pair Ranking overview:

And here is the new portfolio historical performance overview:

We have finally reached the point where the average monthly profit (when running all pairs) is BIGGER than any potential loss!

That means that even if there would be a Max Loss being hit (which should not happen often occording to backtests), it will recover within 1 month's time!

Even is there would be a loss every month, the EA would still be profitable :-)

I've also made a big improvement on the Correlation Filter.  It now has 2 parameters:

  • Currencies for correlation filter (ex. "JPY;CHF;"): Here you can fill in the CURRENCY-NAMES which you want included in the Correlation Filter.  For example: if you fill in "JPY", the EA will check all JPY pairs for correlating trades.  In the next parameter, you can set how many correlated pairs can trade at the  same time.
  • Max number of correlated pairs trading simultaneously: Here you can set how many different pairs are allowed to have correlated  trades

So basically, in the first parameter, you put the currencies-names that you want to monitor for correlation (NOT the pairs, the currencies, like JPY or CHF or AUD).  you can seperate them with ";".  So the EA will monitor for correlation in the same trade direction of the currency.  for example.  if you put in USD to monitor, it will check for EURUSD, GBPUSD, AUDUSD, etc, to see if they are trading in the same direction.  BUT: it will also look for USDCHF if it is trading in the opposite direction, so basically for Dollar strength or weakness...

in the second parameter, you fill in the maximum allowed correlated pairs.  so if you put in "0", the EA will NOT open any new grid for a pair that contains the currency symbol entered in the first parameter, if there is already a pair trading that also contains that currency symbol and trading in correlated direction.   If you fill in "1", the EA will open a new grid if maximum 1 other pair containing the same currency symbol already has trades.

This correlation filter works best with OneChartSetup!

I'm still checking for the best setting for this parameter for good profits and lowest possible risk.

I'm still going to optimize: NZDJPY, NZDCHF, EURNZD and GBPAUD.   I think that then the full list of important pairs is completed, and we might hit the 2K average monthly profit by doing so :-) We'll see :-)
