what criteria causes an alert?  i see several times when a candle has broken through and closed outside of the band (even two candles outside the band) but no alert.  Are there other criteria that must be met?  i included a screenshot as an example.  look between the two vertical lines

also, it is definitely not alerting each time the candle touches the bollinger band, especially not a wick as depicted in the screenshot image shown in the overview.

Hello Hope4Future,

Thank you for trying my indicator. I have had a look at the same chart on my platform and I believe that the Bollinger Bands that you have plotted on your chart have a deviation of 2. My indicator by default is looking at a deviation of 3 (although you can change it to 2 in inputs).

Here's what my chart looks like with Bollinger Bands and a deviation of 3: https://charts.mql5.com/17/648/audusd-m5-fxcm-australia-pty-2.png

To answer your second comment - the indicator paints an arrow on the chart and alerts you when price crosses above the upper band or below the lower one. You will get an alert for every candlestick that makes a high or low outside the band (this includes wicks). My screenshot above should show you this in action.

I hope all that makes sense? Let me know if that's resolved this for you.

Thanks,

Luke

here are my settings.  it is the default settings, i didn't change them.  strange how my candles are lower in the band than yours.  i have MANY MANY MANY candles that break and close outside the band without alerts.  here is a screenshot of the settings.  I would REALLY LIKE to get all the BB breakout alerts.  i get very few alerts in a days time.

Can you show me the settings for the MT4 BollingerBands that you are using?
