May I know what does "Grid Step" means/refers to?
Can this be set to full-auto EA so we can leave it to the VPS to auto-trade by itself?

Nvm... I read it now:
It has 3 modes - (1) auto buy or sell (Oscillation Mode), (2) manual buy or (3) manual sell.
To enable the oscillation mode manual SELL MODE or manual BUY MODE have to be disabled.
Automated module has to be changed to Oscillation mode.

yes. i am removing MA crossover module in the next version. MA cross will be added to oscilation module (to avoid taking positions at downtrend).
Recently I created also zig zag pattern trend change detection mechanism, i may incorporate it in the future.
So many things to do so little time.

Does doing alot of backtesting is as good as live trading results or they are mostly different?
Or is trading using demo account is more closer to the same result as trading using live account?
This EA is only optimized for 1 pair - GBP/JPY and 1:500 leverage means that only 1 currency pair is enough to create alot of trading already in a day?
And we can just it to auto trade at any one time for the optimized 1 pair i.e. GBP/JPY, without having to look for clear up and/or down trend before switching it on to full-auto trading i.e. do we still need to use a little of our brain to have results with this strategy or can we just "run it wild" without thinking about the up/down trend is going to continue or not?

I attended a Forex intro course at www.jflennon.com (to their full course) and they only specialise in trading JPY against another currency pair and the max. take profit they recommended is only 20 pips!!! Anything more than that they don't encourage because of the higher volatility of the JPY. And the course cost $4,000!!! And their "formula" for arriving at the predicted 20 pips is only 80% successful and the formula has to be updated every few months!!!
generally you can optimize grid on any time perriod, but the shorter it is, the faster the gains. (long term grid can fail as easily as short term, but you just wait longer for those gains/loses)
In my opinion good period is 5 days to 5 months.
You find a pattern (lets say oscilation) - with scale, take profit and money management, then you turn off the money management and enable pips stop loss - optimize it to find this stop loss not being hit but is close. You can run this preset on some accounts with other strategies/presets.
Lets say Money Mamagement was 125, and you have 1000 on your account. Remember to turn MM off. If you configured PIPS STOP LOSS right, this preset will endanger 125 usd. There can be few outcomes: (simple examples)
1) pattern fails at start and earns nothing, you lose -125
2) pattern earns 50, but then it fails and loses 125 (so 50-125 = minus 75)
3) pattern earns 125, then fails losing 125 (at zero)
4) pattern earns 250, then fails losing 125 (+125)
5) pattern earns 700, then fails losing 125 (+575)
The trick is to find good patterns, that at least return you the amount that you risk - from that moment you can say you have "risk-free profit".
You dont have to buy this strategy to try it. Try free version first, if you are not sure if this is way of trading you are looking for. Only limitation of the free version is number of grid positions. Half of my short-term presets should work with the free version.
BTW short term requires optimizations, as you need to look for good patterns more often than with long term
NO. It needs to be optimized in the past for every pair. I advice looking for patterns that last few days to few months. The default settings were for GBP/JPY growth, but the pattern was brokeen (it can be continued, it is user's choice).
Grid trading is not an easy trading - you need to be able to find proper settings. Please check the manual for more details about options.
there are many additional options, but main things to change/optimize :
buy mode/sell mode/ oscillation mode (around moving average)
scale factor
money management (best optimize with mm on, but to run with MM OFF)
profit factor
if in oscilation mode - Moving average timeframe period details and distance for open/close
I will create a video soon on how to create useful presets, that are safe for your account size. Do not launch them in default mode on any other pair than GBP/JPY. Send me private messages about detailed questions, i will try to answer them. (i can also send you some past and present presets so you can test and see what is it about)
I created FREE version (identical to full, but 4 grid positions instead of 20) so that anyone could test and see if it is EA he wants. (30%-40% of my grids work with free version)
To anyone else - ff you hestiate about purchase please contact me, we can establish will that EA be useful to you or not.

Hello, I have been testing EA v3.45 for 3 weeks on a demo account with good results.
I decided to transfer to a live account, using identical settings with a fund of $8000.00.
IU cannot get the EA to execute a trade. The Journal shows the EA trying to place trades,
for example : 273968 : order buy market 0.08 USDJPY opening at market sl : 0.000 tp : 0.000 failed [trade is disabled]
the settings are identical to the demo i was using.
Any ideas please?
regards
Nick

NickIf you are working with a micro account (1volume in standard account = 100 000 units, 1volume in micro account = 1000 units), you should search in the Market Watch window for the symbols with "micro” extension (e.g. EUR/USD micro instead EUR/USD), and set the EA over a 'micro' pair chart.
free one has 20 grid positions, free 4. Please try the free one and backtest it - understand it, before purchasing the full version.
Free one = 20? Free one = 4?
You mean "paid" one = 20?
Why limited to 20 positions only?

it is enough for 99% of the situations. Usual short-term grid should have 3-8 positions. (that i get in optimization process using mql5 cloud)
Too many positions make first positions weight very light (low income) and if there is a strong trend you get income only from 1-2 first positions, so they should not be too small in relation to weight of all positions.
Dear angreeee, when new version will come ? i couldn't get good result with MA oscillation. Only profitable with in one way trend. I can detect long term trends with weekly graphics. Daily trends may oscillate.
Is this ea price valid only current version ? Is also include next versions ?
Does anyone have a good set file?
