Multi-Timeframe Precision for Automated Gold Trading
Gold Triad is an automated Expert Advisor designed for XAUUSD. It combines four technical indicators across three timeframes to evaluate market direction, volatility and entry momentum within one trading framework.
The strategy seeks opportunities where the broader trend, a period of volatility compression and a fresh momentum signal agree. Decisions use completed candles, providing clearly defined conditions for entry and exit.
Three Timeframes. One Coordinated Strategy.
H4 — Ichimoku: Establishing Direction
The H4 Ichimoku framework defines the broader trend. Gold Triad uses this direction to determine whether a buy or sell setup is eligible, helping keep entries aligned with the strategy’s assessment of the larger market move.
H1 — Bollinger Bands: Identifying Compression
Bollinger Band width measures volatility compression on H1. This condition identifies quieter market phases in which the EA can look for a qualifying momentum entry.
Compression does not guarantee a breakout. It forms one part of the combined setup.
M20 — MACD and RSI: Confirming the Entry
The M20 MACD histogram crossing the zero line provides the entry trigger. RSI adds directional confirmation before the EA submits an order.
This layered process gives each indicator a specific role: direction, market condition or entry timing.
How Gold Triad Pursues Profit
Gold Triad seeks to capture directional price movements following a qualifying setup. It does not use a fixed Take Profit, allowing a position to remain open while its exit conditions permit.
A profitable trade can therefore continue beyond a predetermined target. The trade closes when the M20 price crosses EMA20 against the position, the eight-hour holding limit is reached or the daily closure condition applies.
This approach combines an initial volatility-based Stop Loss with a flexible profit exit. The potential benefit is participation in sustained moves; the tradeoff is that some floating profit may be given back before an exit occurs.
Profitability depends on the size and frequency of winning trades relative to losses and transaction costs. Gold Triad does not guarantee positive returns or a fixed monthly income.
Key Advantages
Coordinated confirmation
The strategy combines signals from M20, H1 and H4, giving each timeframe a distinct purpose.
Volatility-based protection
An initial Stop Loss of 2.5 × M20 ATR adjusts the planned stop distance to recent market volatility.
Flexible profit exits
The absence of a fixed Take Profit allows the EA to participate in extended moves, subject to its signal, time and daily exit rules.
Cost-aware entries
Before entry, the EA compares the spread and estimated transaction costs with the planned Stop Loss distance.
Controlled exposure
Gold Triad manages one position at a time. It does not use martingale, grid trading or averaging down.
Defined trading hours
New entries stop at 21:00 broker server time. Remaining positions are scheduled for closure from 23:00, helping limit overnight exposure.
Transparent monitoring
The dashboard displays trading status, completed trades, win rate, net results and floating profit or loss. Indicator displays are also available in visual Strategy Tester mode.
Position and Execution Management
Gold Triad supports fixed lot sizing or equity-based percentage risk sizing.
Before submitting an order, the EA checks data readiness, trading permissions, permitted volume, available margin and order validity. Its trading logic uses internally defined timeframes and operates independently of the chart timeframe.
Each position is managed using:
-
Initial Stop Loss: 2.5 × M20 ATR.
-
Profit exit: M20 closing-price crossover against EMA20.
-
Maximum holding period: eight hours.
-
Daily closure: from 23:00 broker server time.
All closures remain subject to market availability and successful execution.
Suggested Starting Capital
The following setup guidelines apply to a fixed position size of 0.01 lot:
| Account leverage | Suggested starting deposit |
|---|---|
| 1:25 | USD 500 |
| 1:500 | USD 200 |
These deposits are starting guidelines, not validated minimums or guarantees against drawdown. Actual margin requirements depend on the broker’s XAUUSD specifications and current price.
Higher leverage reduces the margin required to open the same position. It does not reduce that position’s market exposure or potential loss.
