Dx Midas is a gold engine for XAUUSD on M30. It waits for a small number of high-quality setups each week, enters with a protective stop, and manages every trade to a disciplined exit. It runs on one chart with one magic number. No manual work is needed.

Tested the hard way

  • MetaTrader 5 Strategy Tester, every tick based on real ticks, January 2024 to October 2026, commission included.
  • Two brokers, same EA and same settings: VT Markets and IC Markets.
  • Level 4 (default), 10,000 USD account: VT +50,649 USD, PF 4.43, max drawdown 8.9 %. IC +57,677 USD, PF 3.97, max drawdown 12.0 %.
  • Level 7 (extreme), 10,000 USD account: VT +866,571 USD, PF 5.61, max drawdown 21.8 %. IC +1,113,573 USD, PF 4.92, max drawdown 29.3 %.
  • Every year in profit at Level 4 on both brokers. 31 of 31 months were green on VT, and 32 of 33 on IC.

How a cycle works

Dx Midas trades with the trend of gold. A cycle can scale in with up to two entries, and an added entry is never larger than the first. Every entry of the cycle shares one protective stop, and the whole cycle never risks more than the Risk Level %. No martingale, no grid.

7 Risk Levels (the most one cycle can lose if its protective stop is hit)

  • Level 1 Very Low: 2.5 %
  • Level 2 Low: 5 %
  • Level 3 Moderate: 7.5 %
  • Level 4 Balanced (default): 10 %
  • Level 5 Growth: 13.5 %
  • Level 6 High: 17 %
  • Level 7 Extreme: 25 %

You can also trade a fixed lot per cycle or set your own %.

Protection

  • Every open position carries a protective stop loss on the server.
  • Equity stop: % drawdown from the peak.
  • Daily loss limit.
  • Max open lots and max spread filters.
  • Pauses trading on US Jobs Report mornings.
  • Restart safe: the EA rebuilds its state after a terminal or VPS restart.

Setup

  • Attach the EA to one XAUUSD M30 chart. Gold symbols with a suffix (XAUUSD.r, GOLD and similar) work.
  • Pick a Risk Level. Level 4 is the default.
  • Server time: New York close brokers (GMT+2 winter / GMT+3 summer) work out of the box. For any other broker, set the fixed GMT offset.
  • Hedging account, leverage 1:100 or higher.
  • Keep MetaTrader 5 running 24/5. A VPS is recommended.
  • Recommended minimum: 500 USD at Level 4. Smaller accounts may skip trades when the computed lot is below the broker minimum.

On any other symbol or timeframe the EA runs a demonstration mode: at most one minimum-lot trade per day, with stop loss and take profit. The real engine runs only on XAUUSD M30.

  • One cycle can lose up to its Risk Level %. At Level 7 that means up to 25 % of the account in one cycle.
  • Choose the level for the drawdown you can live with.
