Well, this indicator of course can be used in trend market as well in range environements. I'm using it since several years, and today i can see these pattern also on naked charts. Of course in trending markets you will squeeze very huge moves. Several times, it wasn't uncommon, that i turned out my initial risk with a reward of 10-15 times on strong trending markets. On the other hands, when a market has already gone in huge trend, you should be concerned to buy/sell on retracements with the indicator; you will prepare yourself at some accumulation/distribution moments...so how to behave? In this situation i advise to switch on lower TF such as M15 or M5 too, and trade the indicator's patterns only near the sup/res range (in a contrarian style ) of higher TF...let the market accumulating/distributing itself for a wile and you will see the swing points! You also can use bollinger bands in these moments to help yourself to spot the range.. you will do just fine :)

I'm also having several attemps to put all my knowledge in algo trading solutions, i think there is some room to build something interesting also in the algo trading system, looking forward for this.

Yes, when you see at your specific currency pair, metal, etc.. you can do your own adjustement although default setting are good (in average) for any security.

I like so much to give some technical tips to this community (trading is a so lonely activity lol) and i like to help traders that just like me at the beginning had an hard time to trade markets profitably.

However today, although i can understand market's dynamics i always respect the market and treat him with caution; i suggest you to manage properly this trade now, you did a great job to spot and make the right timing on this NZDUSD trade, now you should have an hawk's eye on this trade and do not feel "overconfident" although human nature it is to rejoice when we see a handsome profit ;)
